| Obverse description | Hammered silver flan bearing a two-line Arabic inscription in bold Nasta'liq calligraphy divided by a horizontal ruled line across the field. The upper register reads 'Shah' and the lower register reads ''Alam', together forming the regnal title 'Shah Alam' (the imperial epithet of Bahadur Shah I). The legends fill the coin's field to the rim, consistent with standard Mughal rupee typology, with scattered pellet ornaments visible between characters. The script is deeply struck in high relief against a granular silver surface. |
