Obverse description Hammered silver flan bearing the Shahada in flowing Nastaliq Arabic script across the field, reading 'There is no god but God, Muhammad is the Messenger of God.' The inscription is arranged in multiple registers filling the entire coin surface, with the script exhibiting the characteristic calligraphic style of early nineteenth-century Afghan coinage. The flan is irregular in shape, typical of hand-struck issues of this period, with the legends extending to the rim. Dotted decorative elements punctuate the field between the lines of text.
Obverse script Arabic
Obverse lettering لا إله إلا الله محمد رسول الله
