| Obverse description | The obverse bears multiple lines of Arabic script arranged in various configurations across the coin's field, divided by a horizontal line. The legends, struck in the characteristic hand-hammered style of early nineteenth-century Afghan coinage, include the ruler's name and titles in flowing Naskh calligraphy. The irregular flan gives the inscriptions an organic, slightly off-center appearance typical of this issue. Dot embellishments are scattered throughout the field as decorative elements. The AH regnal date appears within the inscription field. |

| Reverse description | The reverse displays Arabic inscriptions arranged in two registers separated by a horizontal line, with bold Naskh calligraphy filling both the upper and lower fields. The upper register contains the mint name (Kabul) and the lower portion bears the regnal year. Decorative dot pellets are interspersed among the letters, consistent with Barakzai-era Afghan rupee coinage. The hand-hammered strike produces bold, slightly irregular letter forms characteristic of the Kabul mint output during Ayub Shah's reign. |
