A Devanagari letter 'Ga' (गा), serving as an abbreviation for Gaekwad, the ruling family, appears alongside an Arabic numeral denoting the regnal year of the Mughal emperor Shah Alam II. Known regnal year varieties include 3x, 40, 41, and 5x, corresponding to the minting periods between 1788 and 1808. The calligraphic style is consistent with Mughal-derived coinage produced at provincial mints under Maratha successor states.
