| 正面描述 | Central field occupied by a stylised hare motif rendered in the local Sindhi hammered tradition, surrounded by flowing Arabic legends disposed across the flan. Pellet ornaments are interspersed among the inscription elements, serving as decorative spacers. The legends are struck in a bold, somewhat crude calligraphic style characteristic of the Khairpur mint output of this period. |

Khairpur was among the few princely states in Sind permitted to retain a degree of autonomy after the British annexation of Sind in February 1843 — the same year this rupee was struck. While neighboring Hyderabad and Mirpur saw their ruling Talpur amirs deposed outright following General Charles Napier's controversial conquest, the Khairpur branch negotiated a subsidiary alliance that preserved local coinage rights. That political exception is precisely why this rupee exists at all.
