Reverse description A detailed depiction of a mosque with minarets occupies the central medallion, set within a radiant oval of fine sunrays symbolizing divine light and royal authority. This central motif is enclosed within a seven-pointed star formed by radiating points. An Arabic inscription appears in the upper field above the central device. The entire design is surrounded by a wreath of laurel and poppy branches, tied at the base, consistent with the decorative vocabulary of early twentieth-century Afghan coinage.
