Obverse description Central field bears a multi-line Persian inscription in Nastaliq script, divided by a horizontal band into upper and lower registers, identifying the ruler Aziz-ud-din Alamgir II. Decorative pellet ornaments are interspersed within the inscription bands, a characteristic feature of Mughal hammered coinage. The legends are boldly struck in high relief against a flat field, with the regnal year indicated within the composition.
