Obverse description The obverse bears a multi-line Persian legend in flowing Naskh calligraphy arranged across the field, reading 'Sikka Mubarak badshah ghazi Aziz-ud-din Muhammad Alamgir' with the regnal year 1172 AH. The inscription, referencing the Mughal Emperor Alamgir II, is distributed across four registers with decorative dot ornaments punctuating the field. The calligraphy is deeply struck with bold, elegant strokes characteristic of Mughal-era coinage.
