| Obverse description | Square flan with a raised linear border framing bold Arabic legends across the field in two registers. The inscription records the regnal name of Emperor Akbar together with the mint name Bang (Bengal) and the AH date, all rendered in bold Naskh script characteristic of Mughal hammered coinage. The legends are deeply struck with pronounced relief typical of the Bang mint issues. The lower portion of the flan bears the mint name Zarb Bang, with the AH date appearing in the upper register. |
