| Beschrijving voorzijde | The obverse displays the Durrani dynastic couplet in flowing Nasta'liq script, arranged in horizontal registers across the field. The legend reads 'Mahi ta bamah' (the celebrated poetic verse adopted as the Durrani royal motto), rendered in bold calligraphic strokes characteristic of Afghan hammered coinage of the period. The text fills the entire flan in a series of curved, parallel bands typical of Sadozai-era rupees. The coin exhibits the irregular, hand-struck planchet characteristic of Afghan hammered silver coinage of the mid-18th century. |
