| Obverse description | Central field bears the name and titles of Ahmad Shah Bahadur in bold Nasta'liq Arabic script, arranged in two horizontal registers separated by a ruled line. The upper register contains part of the imperial legend, while the lower register displays the mint name Shahjahanabad. Dotted ornamental devices appear within the inscription bands. The entire design is contained within a circular flan with characteristic irregular hammered edges typical of Mughal coinage of the mid-eighteenth century. |
