Obverse description The obverse bears a multi-line Persian legend in Nastaliq script arranged within a central rectangular cartouche defined by two horizontal rules, reading 'Ahmad Shah Bahadur Badshah Ghazi' (Ahmad Shah, the Brave King, the Holy Warrior), with the Hijri regnal year 1162 AH incorporated into the field. The inscription fills the coin's face in the characteristic Mughal hammered style, with bold raised lettering and a granular, slightly uneven flan typical of hand-struck silver rupees of this period. Portions of the legend extend into the margins beyond the ruled border.
