| Beschrijving voorzijde | The obverse bears bold Arabic calligraphic legends in the Nastaliq script, arranged in two registers separated by a horizontal line across the field. The upper register contains the name and titles of the Mughal emperor Ahmad Shah Bahadur, rendered in large, deeply struck characters with pellet ornaments scattered throughout the field. The lower register continues the imperial titulature. The overall design follows the standard Mughal rupee format of the period, with the flan exhibiting the characteristic irregular, slightly flan-cracked appearance typical of hammered coinage. |

| Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse displays Arabic Nastaliq legends in two registers divided by a raised horizontal line, bearing the julus (accession) formula recording the regnal year alongside the mint name Arcot (Arkat). Prominently impressed in the central field is a Latin letter 'D', a counterstamp applied under the authority of French Governor Joseph François Dupleix to distinguish coins struck under French administration at the Arcot mint. Pellet ornaments are scattered throughout the field, consistent with Mughal minting conventions of the period. |
