| Reverse description | The reverse bears a multi-line Persian inscription, again partly off the flan, consistent with the broad calligraphic style of Hyderabadi coinage of this period. The regnal year, here numeral 8 (and other regnal years across the series), appears prominently at the upper left of the field, serving as the principal dating element on this side. The inscription identifies the reign of Afzal-ad-Daula and follows the traditional Islamic format without portraiture or heraldic devices. The field is otherwise unadorned, with the calligraphic text as the sole design element. |
