| Reverse description | Central field features the Kalima-i-Shahada (Islamic declaration of faith) reading 'La ilaha illallah Muhammadur Rasulullah' arranged within or around a central square cartouche. The names of the first four Rightly Guided Caliphs of Islam — Abu Bakr, Umar, Uthman, and Ali — are inscribed in the four corners or margins surrounding the square, a devotional arrangement common to Sur dynasty silver coinage. The legends are rendered in fine Naskh-style Arabic calligraphy. The overall layout reflects the orthodox Sunni religious identity of the Sur rulers. |
