| Obverse description | Three lines of Javanese script filling the central field, reading 'Kempeni Inggelis' (English Company) and 'struck at Surapringga (Surabaya)' with the Javanese calendar year 1743 (Saka era). A five-petalled flower ornament is positioned at the top of the field, serving as a decorative device. A mintmark appears at the bottom of the inscription. The legends are rendered in the traditional Javanese script, reflecting the bicultural character of the British administration of Java. |

| Reverse description | The reverse is filled with multiple lines of Arabic script arranged across the entire field, divided horizontally by a raised line. The upper portion bears the legend identifying the issuing authority as the English Company (Kompeni Inggelis) and the Hijri year 1230. Below the dividing line, the lower portion carries additional Arabic text stating that the coin was minted on the island of Java. The script is boldly engraved in a style consistent with Indo-Persian monetary tradition, with the date prominently displayed in Eastern Arabic numerals. |
