| Obverse description | The obverse is printed in dark blue-black on a pale buff ground, its entire field framed by a dense border of interlocking guilloche rosettes arranged in rows along all four sides. At each lateral margin the bold numeral "1" appears in large letterpress type, while the central panel carries the title "Darlehnskassenschein" in Gothic blackletter across the top, with the value "Ein Rubel" in large serif type below; the place and date "Posen, den 17. April 1916" and the issuing authority "Ostbank für Handel und Gewerbe, Darlehnskasse Ost" follow in smaller roman type above three facsimile signatures. A counterfeiting warning legend in small roman text runs along the lower margin. |
