Reverse description A crowned Norse lion rampant to the left, its tail curled over its back and its forelegs raised, depicted in a vigorous folk-art style typical of Danish colonial issues. The lion stands before a battle axe, oriented to the left. The entire design is enclosed within a beaded border. The irregular flan and the bold, somewhat crude relief are consistent with the hammered technique employed for this colonial issue.
