| Additional information |
The Pobjoy Mint, operating privately out of Surrey, produced this piece for one of the many small territories that contracted out their coinage to non-government mints during the 1990s. The "Royal" denomination, used on a handful of Pobjoy-issued pieces, has no real monetary function — these were struck for the collector market from the outset, with the breed dog series targeting thematic buyers rather than any circulating currency need.
