| Additional information |
Yelnya is a peatland reserve in the Vitebsk region, one of the largest raised bogs in Europe and a critical stopover for migratory birds on the East Atlantic Flyway. Belarus has issued an extended series of circulation commemoratives highlighting its natural reserves, and this piece belongs to that program — driven in part by national commitments under the Ramsar Convention on wetlands, to which Belarus has been a signatory since 1999.
