Reverse description The reverse features a fragment of the political map of Belarus as it appeared at the close of World War I, with the dividing line established by the Treaty of Riga prominently marked. To the left, a three-line Cyrillic inscription reads ПЕРШАЯ СУСВЕТНАЯ ВАЙНА (World War I). A textured field of storm clouds partially overlaps the map, serving as a symbolic evocation of the global tragedy of the conflict. The overall composition juxtaposes cartographic precision with expressive artistic elements to convey historical gravitas.

Additional information

Belarus issued this rouble as part of a commemorative series marking the centenary of the First World War, a conflict that ravaged the territory of present-day Belarus with particular ferocity — the Eastern Front cut directly through the region, and the German occupation of 1915–1918 left large portions of the country under military administration. The National Bank produced several thematic pieces in this series across different compositions and formats.

KM#475 is the copper-nickel circulation-quality strike, distinct from the silver proofs issued concurrently for the same commemorative program.
