Beschrijving keerzijde A large right-facing bust of Vladimir Ilyich Lenin dominates the field, rendered in high relief with considerable sculptural detail, depicting him in a suit and tie with his characteristic features including a goatee. The Cyrillic legend ВЛАДИМИР ИЛЬИЧ ЛЕНИН curves along the upper and right periphery of the coin, following the rim. The field is otherwise plain, allowing the portrait to occupy the majority of the reverse design.

Aanvullende informatie

Stalin died in March 1953, and no commemorative rouble honoring Lenin was officially issued that year — Soviet mint records show no such piece in the standard circulation series. If this is a pattern coin, a proof strike, or a later restrike attributed to 1953, that distinction matters considerably. The Moscow Mint produced backdated and specimen issues well into the 1970s for collector sets, and misattributed dates on Soviet roubles are not uncommon in dealer inventories.
