Transnistria's commemorative rouble programme has long served the breakaway state's drive for international legitimacy — issuing coins for a territory unrecognised by any UN member. Tereshkova, the first woman in space, completed her solo Vostok 6 mission in June 1963, logging 48 orbits over nearly three days. She remains the only woman to have flown a solo space mission.
The 2018 date marks the 55th anniversary of that flight.
