Obverse description At center, the State Coat of Arms of the Republic of Belarus is rendered in high relief, depicting a traditional Belarusian ornamental border enclosing a map of Belarus with a rising sun, clover, and wheat stalks. Below the arms, a two-line Cyrillic legend reads 'РЭСПУБЛIКА БЕЛАРУСЬ' (Republic of Belarus). The lower portion of the field records the year of issue '1996', the silver fineness '.925', and the metal weight '28.28 ГРАМА' (28.28 grams).

Reverse description A relief of a hovering white stork is depicted against a lightly incised geographic map of the Republic of Belarus occupying the central field. In the lower left, the emblem of the United Nations and the numeral '50' commemorate the organization's 50th anniversary. Along the rim, inscriptions in Cyrillic separated by geometric ornamental devices read 'НАЦЫI, АБ'ЯДНАНЫЯ ЗА МIР' (Nations United for Peace) and the denomination '1 РУБЕЛЬ' (1 Rouble), with the commemorative dates '1945–1995' also appearing in the legend.
