Obverse description At centre, the official emblem of the Bank of Russia — a double-headed eagle with wings lowered — is depicted within a beaded circle. The curved legend БАНК РОССИИ (BANK OF RUSSIA) arcs beneath the eagle within the circle. Along the upper rim, the denomination legend ОДИН РУБЛЬ (ONE ROUBLE) is inscribed, while the date 2003 appears along the lower rim. To the left of the eagle, the metal purity designation Ag 925 is struck in the field; to the right, the fine metal content 7.78 and the Saint Petersburg Mint monogram СПМД are similarly placed.
