Obverse description At centre, the official emblem of the Bank of Russia depicting a double-headed eagle with wings lowered, enclosed within a beaded inner circle. The curved legend БАНК РОССИИ (Bank of Russia) arcs beneath the eagle within the circle. The upper rim bears the denomination legend ОДИН РУБЛЬ (One Rouble), while the lower rim carries the date 2002. To the left of the eagle, the alloy designation and fineness Ag 900 are inscribed in the field; to the right, the fine metal content 15.55 and the Saint Petersburg Mint privy mark СПМД appear.
