| Obverse description | The centre of the obverse bears the two-headed eagle emblem of the Bank of Russia, designed by Ivan Bilibin, rendered in relief against the field. A beaded inner circle frames the central device, with the curved legend «БАНК РОССИИ» (Bank of Russia) inscribed below the eagle in a semicircular arrangement. The upper rim carries the denomination legend «ОДИН РУБЛЬ» (One Rouble), while the date «1998» appears at the lower rim. To the left of the central device are the metal designation and fineness marks (Ag 900), and to the right the fine metal content and the Saint Petersburg Mint monogram (СПМД). |
