| Reverse description | The reverse is dominated by the large official Russian ruble currency symbol (₽), a Cyrillic letter Р with a horizontal double bar through its upper stem, prominently displayed in the left-centre of the field. To the right and lower portions of the field, graceful stylised floral and foliate scrollwork decorates the background, imparting an ornamental, art-nouveau quality to the design. The Cyrillic inscription РУБЛЬ (Rouble) is legend beneath the currency symbol in the lower central field. The overall composition commemorates the official adoption of the ruble sign as the currency symbol of the Russian Federation. |
