Rybnitsa is Transnistria's second-largest city and home to the Moldovan Steel Works, one of the largest electric arc furnace steel plants in Eastern Europe — an operation that accounts for a substantial share of the unrecognized state's export revenue. This coin is part of a series honoring Transnistrian cities issued by the Republican Bank, an institution whose notes and coins have no legal standing outside a territory that no UN member state formally recognizes.
