| Aversbeschreibung | At centre, a detailed depiction of three Siberian iris flowers (Iris sibirica) in full bloom, with slender stems and characteristic petals rendered in fine relief against a hatched background field. The state coat of arms of the Republic of Belarus appears at the top centre within a small shield. The circular legend 'РЭСПУБЛIКА БЕЛАРУСЬ' runs along the upper periphery, flanked on either side by the design. To the lower left, the Belarusian-script designation 'касач сібірскі' appears in the field, with the denomination '1 РУБЕЛЬ' centred below the floral motif and the date '2018' to the lower right. |

| Reversbeschreibung | At centre, a highly detailed depiction of a Western capercaillie (Tetrao urogallus) standing in a forest setting, its plumage rendered with exceptional engraving detail, the bird shown with head raised in a calling posture surrounded by pine trees in the background field. A traditional Belarusian geometric ornamental motif appears in the upper left of the field. The inscription 'Глушэц' (capercaillie in Belarusian) is lettered in the lower portion of the field in a Roman-style script against the dark recessed background. |

| Zusätzliche Informationen |
Belarus has issued an extensive series of copper-nickel roubles commemorating its nature reserves, and the Kotra Reserve — a wetland sanctuary in the Grodno region established in 1960 — is among the lesser-visited entries in that series. The Kotra River itself is one of the cleanest in the country, which explains the reserve's particular importance for breeding populations of black stork and lesser spotted eagle. These coins circulate freely alongside standard issues, meaning worn examples are genuinely common within a few years of release.
