Obverse description At centre, the official emblem of the Bank of Russia — a double-headed eagle with wings lowered — is depicted within a beaded inner circle. The circular legend around the upper rim reads ОДИН РУБЛЬ (One Rouble), while the year of issue 2002 appears along the lower rim. To the left of the eagle, the metal purity designation Ag 925 is inscribed in the field; to the right, the fine metal content (7.78) and the Moscow Mint monogram (ММД) are similarly placed.
