Belarus has issued commemorative roubles prolifically since the late 1990s, and the "Light & Darkness" piece belongs to a philosophical-themed series exploring dualist concepts — a genre the National Bank leaned into heavily during the 2020s as domestic political turmoil made overtly nationalist themes complicated.
