Aanvullende informatie

Francisk Skorina printed the first book in the Belarusian language in Vilnius in 1522 — a remarkable act for a man who had already produced the first printed Bible in the East Slavic world in Prague a decade earlier. This coin is one entry in a broader series tracing Skorina's geographic and intellectual journey, with individual issues tied to specific cities where he lived and worked. Vilnius, where he spent his final productive years as court physician to the Bishop of Vilnius, was also where his printing legacy effectively ended.
