Additional information

Part of the Soviet Union's "XXV Olympic Games Barcelona 1992" commemorative series, this rouble was issued just months before the USSR ceased to exist entirely. The Soviet team never competed under that flag in Barcelona — by the time the Games opened in July 1992, the union had dissolved, and athletes competed instead as the Unified Team, a short-lived entity representing twelve former Soviet republics for one final Olympics.
