Transnistria's plastic commemorative roubles attract most collector attention, but the bank has issued a parallel series of metal circulation-type pieces honoring the coats of arms of the republic's cities and districts. Kamenka — known in Romanian as Camenca — sits on the Dniester's eastern bank near the Moldovan border and has remained under Tiraspol's administrative control since the 1992 war, despite Moldova's continued claim to the territory. The political status of every place named on these coins is, technically, disputed under international law.
