Reverse description The reverse presents a detailed naturalistic depiction of an Altai mountain ram (Ovis ammon) in profile, rendered with fine engraved detail highlighting the animal's characteristic large curved horns and sturdy body set against a plain field. The curved Cyrillic legend «АЛТАЙСКИЙ ГОРНЫЙ БАРАН» (The Altai Mountain Ram) is inscribed along the left rim, identifying the subject. The composition is part of the Red Book series issued to raise awareness of endangered Russian fauna. The engraving, executed by Elena Viktorovna Kramskaya, reflects a high standard of artistic naturalism consistent with Russian commemorative coinage of the period.
