The Belarusian customs administration traces its modern institutional origin to 1920, when the nascent Soviet apparatus established border control structures across newly consolidated territories — Belarus among them. A century later, this issue marks that founding date, one of several Belarusian commemoratives from 2020 honoring centennials of Soviet-era state institutions that survived, restructured, into the post-independence bureaucracy.
