| 裏面の説明 | Central device consisting of a floriated cross with fleurs-de-lis terminating each arm, a design closely related to the Florentine heraldic tradition and typical of North Italian billon coinage of the early sixteenth century. The cross is boldly struck in high relief against a plain field. Surrounding the central motif is the devotional Latin legend reading ✠ CRVCEM : TVAM : ADORAMVS :, a liturgical phrase referencing veneration of the Cross, rendered in Gothic-influenced lettering along the coin's outer border. The irregular flan edges, a natural consequence of hammered manufacture, are visible around the periphery. |
