| Obverse description | The obverse displays the right-facing draped and veiled bust of Empress Maria Theresa, laureate with a diadem and pearl necklace, in the neoclassical style characteristic of the Austrian trade thaler. A prominent circular 15mm incuse countermark applied over the portrait area bears multi-line Arabic script reading the authority and date of the Qu'aiti Sultan Munsir Al Dawla bin Abdullah Al Qu'aiti, AH 1307. The surrounding Latin legend reads M·THERESIA·D·G·R·IMP·HU·BO·REG·, with the mintmaster's initials S·F· appearing in the lower exergue. |

| Reverse description | The reverse depicts a crowned double-headed Imperial eagle displayed, its wings spread, supporting a central quartered heraldic shield bearing the arms of Austria, Hungary, Bohemia, and Burgundy. Each eagle head is surmounted by a separate imperial crown, with both crowns united beneath a single larger crown at the top. The circumferential Latin legend encircles the entire design, and the date 1780 appears to the left of the eagle's body, with a cross and the mintmaster's mark to the right. |
