Description de l’avers	Austrian Maria Theresa Thaler host coin (KM#T1), countermarked with the Arabic legend 'الحجاز' (Hejaz) applied by the Hashemite authorities upon Husayn's accession (AH 1327). The obverse of the host coin presents a right-facing draped and veiled bust of Empress Maria Theresa, encircled by the Latin legend 'M·THERESIA·D·G· R·IMP·HU·BO·REG·' with 'S·F·' flanking the bust. The Hejaz countermark appears prominently in the field, distinguishing this piece as officially sanctioned currency of the Kingdom of Hejaz.
