Obverse description The centre of the note bears a large Arabic denomination inscription 'ريال واحد' over a multicolour guilloche rosette underprint, flanked by two signature panels titled 'وزير المالية' (Minister of Finance) and 'المحافظ' (Governor). To the right, the Qatari national emblem — incorporating crossed swords, a traditional dhow under sail, and palm trees — is set within an ornate intaglio cartouche of fine scrollwork. The issuer's name in Arabic occupies a rectangular panel across the upper centre, with a geometric Islamic-pattern medallion at the upper left.

Reverse description The left half of the reverse presents a large intaglio vignette of a traditional wooden dhow beached on shore, rendered in fine line engraving against a coastal harbour scene with a pale horizon. A panoramic view of the Emir's Palace complex extends across the centre, set along the waterfront, with multicolour guilloche rosettes decorating the lower corners. The English legend 'QATAR CENTRAL BANK' runs along the upper border, with 'ONE RIYAL' appearing in the lower margin.
