Beschrijving voorzijde The obverse displays a stylised 'CO-OP' logotype rendered as two interlocking infinity loops, symbolising the cooperative movement's contribution to national development. Each letter of the motif incorporates a small pictorial icon representing a distinct sector in which cooperatives have improved members' livelihoods. The design occupies the central field, executed in a modern graphic style against a plain background. The legend 'ULANG TAHUN KE-100 GERAKAN KOPERASI' arcs along the upper and lower periphery, commemorating the centenary of the cooperative movement in Malaysia.

Aanvullende informatie

The cooperative movement in Malaysia traces directly to 1922, when the British colonial administration established the first credit cooperatives to address rural debt among smallholder farmers — a structural problem that moneylenders had exploited for decades. Bank Negara issued this piece in 2022 to mark the centennial of that founding.

Nordic gold — the copper-aluminum-zinc-tin alloy used across much of the world for high-denomination circulation coinage — was selected here for a commemorative issue, which is unusual for Malaysian ringgit pieces of this face value.
