| 正面描述 | Central field features a stylized geometric rendition of the Bunga Ketola (ridge gourd flower), rendered in a pixelated or woven motif characteristic of traditional Malaysian textile artistry, set within the copper-nickel inner disc. The legend 'BANK NEGARA MALAYSIA' curves along the upper periphery of the nickel brass outer ring, while the inscription 'BUNGA KETOLA' appears below the central design and '1 RINGGIT' is positioned along the lower edge of the ring. |

The twelfth Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin, ascended to the ceremonial federal throne in December 2001, and commemorative issues bearing his effigy were produced throughout his reign. This particular release incorporates the songket motif — a hand-woven silk and metallic thread fabric historically reserved for Malay royalty and formal court dress — grounding the coin firmly in the textile traditions of the Malay Peninsula rather than the modernist iconography that dominated Malaysian coinage from the 1990s onward.
The bimetallic format had been standard for the circulating ringgit since 1993, but the Regal Heritage issue was produced for collectors rather than general circulation.
