Obverse description At center-right, a formal portrait vignette of Tuanku Abdul Rahman Ibni Al-Marhum Tuanku Muhammad (1895–1960), the first Yang di-Pertuan Agong (Supreme Head of State) of the Federation of Malaya, set against a guilloche underprint. The denomination and issuing authority appear in both Roman script and Jawi, with the value ONE RINGGIT / SATU RINGGIT inscribed across the lower portion of the note.
