| Obverse description | Draped and armored bust of King Gustav IV Adolf in right-facing profile, wearing a gorget and elaborately worked pauldron with decorative scrollwork at the shoulder. The king's hair falls in long wavy locks to the neckline, rendered with fine detail. A circular legend in Latin characters surrounds the effigy, separated from the toothed rim by a raised inner border. The portrait occupies the majority of the field in a bold, high-relief style characteristic of late 18th-century Swedish coinage. |
