| Description de l’avers | Armored knight standing facing right, holding an upright sword in the right hand and a shield bearing the lion rampant coat of arms of West Friesland in the left hand. The figure is rendered in the bold, vigorous style characteristic of Dutch Republic hammered coinage of the mid-seventeenth century. A beaded inner border frames the central design, with the Latin legend distributed around the periphery of the field. |

| Description du revers | The crowned shield of the Dutch Republic, bearing the rampant lion of the Netherlands with sword and bundle of arrows, occupies the central field, flanked on either side by the divided date 16 - 46. A beaded inner border separates the shield from the circumferential Latin legend, which encircles the entire design. The crown above the shield is rendered with elaborate fleur-de-lis finials and arched detail, consistent with the heraldic conventions of the period. The overall composition reflects the standard reverse type of the Dutch Rijksdaalder series, here executed in piedfort format at double the normal striking weight. |
