Obverse description Armored knight standing facing right, holding an upright sword in the right hand and a shield bearing the lion rampant coat of arms of West Friesland in the left hand. The figure is rendered in the bold, vigorous style characteristic of Dutch Republic hammered coinage of the mid-seventeenth century.
