| Beschrijving voorzijde | Armored and laureate half-length bust of a knight facing right, the right hand raising a sword over the shoulder and the left hand bearing a shield charged with the arms of the Province of Utrecht, all contained within a beaded inner circle. The surrounding legend in Latin is interrupted by the Utrecht mintmark — a small shield bearing the city's coat of arms — positioned at the conclusion of the inscription. The design is executed in the vigorous relief characteristic of Dutch hammered coinage of the mid-seventeenth century. |

| Beschrijving keerzijde | Within a beaded inner circle, the crowned arms of the United Provinces — a shield bearing the rampant Utrecht lion — are depicted in high relief, with the date 1656 divided on either side of the shield in the field. The surrounding Latin motto legend is struck on the square klippe flan, running continuously around the beaded border. The reverse design is consistent with the standard rijksdaalder type of the Dutch Republic, adapted here to the square klippe format with the legend following the circular inner border. |
