| Beschrijving keerzijde | Crowned arms of the Province of Utrecht at center, depicting a rampant lion facing left holding a bundle of arrows (fasces) in the left forepaw, set within a baroque shield surmounted by a floral crown. The central device is enclosed within a beaded inner circle. The circumferential Latin legend runs around the field, interrupted at the top by the date 1673 flanked by pellet stops. The milled edge is visible at the rim, and the overall execution reflects the refined medallic quality of this pattern piece. |

| Aanvullende informatie |
1673 was the worst year of the Rampjaar's aftermath for Utrecht — French forces under Louis XIV had occupied the province since the previous summer, and the Dutch Republic was fighting for survival against France, England, Münster, and Cologne simultaneously. That the Utrecht mint was striking rijksdaalders at all during this period reflects the desperate need to pay troops and maintain financial credibility under occupation conditions. Dirck Bosch served as mintmaster, his name abbreviated on the coin as the issuing authority scrambled to keep production moving.
