Reverse description The central device consists of the elaborately quartered royal Arms of Denmark and its territories, borne upon a large crowned heraldic shield draped within an open ermine-lined mantle. Encircling the shield is the collar of the Order of the Elephant, Denmark's highest chivalric order, rendered in careful detail. Behind the shield, a crossed sword and scepter are visible as symbols of royal authority. The denomination and subsidiary value expressed in skilling courant are inscribed in the outer legend around the rim, separated by ornamental stops.
